Food4Kids awarded two grants totaling $10,000

We're happy to report that Marshall Food4Kids has been awarded $10,000 in grants in recent weeks, one from the Monogram Loves Kids Foundation for $2,500 and another from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota for $7,500. This is great news as the Food4Kids program expands to both Head Start and 3rd grade this fall in addition to K-2 which we expanded to this spring.

The Monogram Loves Kids Foundation was founded in 2010 by Monogram Foods which operates the Monogram Meat Snacks Facility in Chandler, MN along with other facilities in the U.S. The grant money, which is given to many children’s charities throughout the country, came from a fundraising effort across all Monogram Foods locations. The main fundraising event for the most recent round of grants was the 2nd annual Meat Me in Memphis gala that showcased products from Monogram Foods and the culinary and creative talents of local chefs.

The United Way of Southwest Minnesota grant was awarded through their Special Community Project Grant Program which funds projects that have a clear tie to the United Way’s Goals for the Common Good focusing on Education, Income (financial stability), Health, Hunger or Safety & Well-Being and demonstrated clear impact and potential outcomes in those areas. Marshall Food4Kids was awarded under the Hunger category.
