Although you wouldn't know it when looking at the News section of the website, we've been busy the past several months. We expanded from Kindergarten to 1st Grade at the beginning of the second semester and will be expanding to the 2nd Grade at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Grants from both the Otto Bremer Foundation and the Marshall Community Foundation along with private donations made this possible. The Otto Bremer Foundation awarded us $6,000, fully funding our grant request. The Marshall Community Foundation, which is a fund within the Southwest Initiative Foundation, awarded us $1,500. We're thankful for their trust and confidence in us. Marshall Food4Kids currently has 35 first graders and 42 second graders enrolled in the program. More about the organizations: The Marshall Community Foundation has been established to help stimulate growth in our community and to enhance the quality of life for everyone in the Marshall area. Find more info on their Facebook page and at the Southwest Initiative Foundation's website: www.swifoundation.org. The Otto Bremer Foundation strives to help build healthy, vibrant communities—communities where basic needs are met, mutual regard is prized and opportunities for economic, civic and social participation are within everyone’s reach.
