Marshall Food4Kids would like to thank the community for its support of our program. Since its inception in 2013, Marshall Food4Kids has grown to serve more than 800 students each week. During the 2020-2021 school year, 300 volunteers were involved with the preparation and distribution of more than 19,800 bags.

After cancelling our in-person fundraisers the past two years we were happy to hold two of our three regular fundraisers this year – our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser in January and a Tip Night at Pizza Ranch earlier this month. While we are operationally getting back to normal after COVID, we’re still feeling impacts both to the stability of our food supplies and their cost. Over the past year, various food items we buy are now 8-16% more expensive.

We hear from both teachers and parents how important this program is. “I think this is such an integral program for our kids. We have a lot of kids who need more food while they aren't at school and this provides that,” said one teacher. “They are really excited to get the bags. They look forward to getting them. They always remember to take them,” said another.

“I am very grateful to have a variety of snacks offered to one of my children. It's super convenient for our family and I enjoy that it's done discreetly,” said one parent. “I truly appreciate the snacks sent home. They really help us ensure the kids have snacks available over the weekend,” said another. And we also receive other countless comments like “I think this is a wonderful program!”, “great program!”, and “I love that this program provides snacks for my kiddos!”

Despite generous grants and donations from foundations, companies, churches, and the community, we still need your help. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue serving children from preschool to 8th grade and the alternative high school in the Marshall Public Schools as well as children in the Head Start program.

Thank you if you have already donated to us during one of our recent fundraisers. If you didn’t get the chance, Marshall Food4Kids is asking you to prayerfully consider donating to our 2022 Sponsor A Child Campaign, which runs from May 15 to June 15. While $152 will sponsor a child for an entire year, any amount you can give will make a difference in the life of a child.

Details on donating by check or credit card can be found at our website, www.MarshallFood4Kids.org/donate, or by calling/texting 507-401-5554. You can also donate via our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MarshallFood4Kids/ and we won’t get charged credit card fees. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
The Marshall Food4Kids Board
